A weekly note from Eunice — founder, filmmaker, builder

Hey friend,

This week brought clarity, alignment, and real movement. Between refining the CineSparq vision, shaping new updates, and paying close attention to where our industry is headed, I’m more grounded than ever in the work we’re doing here together.

Here’s what we’re diving into today:

  • Industry Pulse: What’s shifting and why it matters for you
  • The Price of Vision: What it takes to build what doesn’t exist yet
  • Proper Preparation: Head to set with confidence
  • Building In Public: CineSparq is taking shape with you in mind
  • Guess What? Series content flips the script (you need to know)

Industry Pulse: What the Market is Saying

Every week I'm sharing a different industry shift and that's because I don't want us getting caught behind the 8-ball when we can lead the charge.

Per usual, there is a noticeable shift happening across film and content.

You may already know that streamers and buyers are tightening their slates. “Undiscovered talent” is no longer enough to move a project through. And, even those with prior success don't have it easy. Why? Investors are prioritizing the actual concepts that come with clarity, proof, and intention behind them. No more sliding to the front of the line because they know your name. And the creators who develop strategically are the ones gaining momentum.

What that means for us:

  • Fewer yeses for raw, untested early projects
  • More momentum for concepts shaped with intention
  • Creators who build traction independently are getting pulled into the system
This isn’t a moment to wait for permission. It’s the to align, prepare and execute strategically so you create moments and script the success you deserve.

Building What Doesn’t Exist

Something sat with me this week, and I want to share it with you.

As creatives, we are often called to bring ideas into the world that have never existed before. We can feel the story. We can see the world. We sense the impact long before anyone else can. And even without a blueprint, we move toward it anyway.

That is a powerful and brave place to stand.

But here’s the part we don’t say enough:

Being a visionary doesn’t mean we’re meant to build alone.

If anything, it means we deserve support while we’re doing the courageous thing.

Mentorship doesn’t dim your brilliance. It sharpens it.

It helps bring shape, clarity, and language to the big audacious idea you’re carrying so you can build with intention, instead of guesswork.

I was connected with a mentor this week and in less than 3 hours, she helped me see blindspots and align my actions to the vision to boost momentum. And she did it all without diminishing my value in the process. That is SO powerful, especially as a woman in a male-dominated field.

If you’re building something that’s new for you, I hope you can hear that you don’t have to hold it all by yourself.

We get to be supported on the journey. Here are 3 aligned next moves you can take if you feel you're ready for a mentor:

Finding A Mentor

  1. Get clear on the need: Write down the specific areas you want to grow in. A mentorship thrives on aligned guidance.
  2. Align Your Presence: Engage in spaces, communities, or conversations where the mentor you desire would naturally be. It seems simple but, proximity creates alignment.
  3. Be Coachable: A mentor can only pour into us if we are willing to apply, stretch, and receive. Decide now that you’ll implement, not just collect advice.

And remember: When the student is ready, the teacher shows up.

Step on Set With Confidence

If you’re developing a project and preparing for production, this may be your moment to get support.

A Production Review helps you get aligned, get clear, and get ready, so you can move into production with confidence—not stress, worry, or blindspots.

It gives you the chance to:

✅ Validate your project’s readiness

✅ Identify the gaps that derail most first-time productions

✅ Strengthen your plan so your film connects and builds momentum

How CineSparq Is Taking Shape

Last week I told you that I finally launched CineSparq.com. I’ve made meaningful progress on CineSparq this week, and you’ll start to see some of those shifts reflected on the site. The vision is becoming more tangible and more aligned with the real needs of filmmakers.

This stage requires something I learned early in my systems testing days; the difference between verification and validation.

Verification asks: Are we building this right?
Validation asks: Are we building the right thing?

CineSparq needs both.

So as we build, I’m also pressure-testing the vision. Over the next two weeks, I’ll be reaching out to a small circle of past and future users; not to sell or collect surface-level feedback, but to help ensure what we’re building truly serves the people it’s designed for.

If you receive a message from me, know it’s because I see you as part of the early circle shaping what thousands of future storytellers will one day experience.

The Future of Storytelling

If you’re with me on Threads, you’ve already seen a few of the breadcrumbs I’ve shared about a new pathway opening for storytellers.

I won’t go deep today, but I’ll say this:

Fox recently ordered 200 short-form narrative projects over the next 2 years in partnership with Holywater.

That kind of move isn’t a guess. It’s a signal.

But here’s what has my attention:

First, I'm a solutions analyst at heart. That means I'm always looking for ways to help us get and stay ahead of systems that prefer to keep us feeling powerless. That said, this path gives creators more control, more authorship, and more opportunity to monetize early. It invites us to think like showrunners and, as we build worlds we get to lead the vision, and create work that travels without waiting for studios or festivals to choose us.

I’m studying this deeply so that when I bring it to you, it will be a grounded blueprint built with your success in mind.

More soon. Stay curious.
